The health of your eyes is not to be overlooked, and we understand that at LE LUNETIER!

OVER 40 OPTOMETRISTS

OVER 40 OPTOMETRISTS

Our group consists of over 40 optometrists trained to assess your overall eye health, detect common vision disorders, measure changes in your vision, and develop a plan to enhance and preserve it.

Each LUNETIER provides comprehensive eye examinations conducted by optometrists available to see you during the day, evenings, and even on Saturdays. Our professionals easily perform visual exams for the entire family.

The use of retinal cameras allows our optometrists to have a precise and detailed view of the back of your eye. This quick and pain-free examination contributes to detecting and monitoring various eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, or retinitis.

It is recommended to receive an eye examination once a year for individuals under 18 and those aged 65 and older. For those between 18 and 64, the frequency varies from 1 to 2 years.

The eye exam lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. First, you’ll be greeted by an assistant optometrist, who will perform preparatory tests using state-of-the-art equipment. These tests assess the overall health of your eyes (including your retina) and detect signs of eye diseases.

Once these tests are completed, the optometrist will review the results and inform you if any issues have been detected. Based on the results, the optometrist will be able to give you advice or recommendations.

The optometrist will continue to evaluate your vision through various manual and mechanical tests. If necessary, he or she will provide you with a prescription for corrective lenses.

What does a comprehensive eye exam include?

A comprehensive eye exam includes several tests

Visual Acuity

Measurement of the eye’s ability to discern details. This measurement is made possible using the Snellen chart.

Refraction

Measurement of the eye’s power. Refraction determines the presence of myopia, hyperopia (poor close-up vision), astigmatism, and/or presbyopia.

Keratometry

Measurement of the curvature of the cornea. Keratometry is useful in fitting contact lenses as well as in screening for certain corneal diseases.

Binocularity Evaluation

Assessment of the ability of both eyes to work together. Adequate muscular synergy enables stereoscopic vision.

Warning! You should urgently consult your optometrist if you experience:

  1. Persistent eye pain;
  2. Red eye;
  3. Sudden vision disturbance or light flashes;
  4. Sensitivity to light;
  5. And so on.
