Almost 80% of school learning involves the integration of visual information. Vision therefore plays a very important role in school success. It goes without saying that this aspect of health should not be neglected. Yet, in Quebec, only 33% of children are examined by an optometrist before they enter school. It is strongly recommended that children have an eye exam every year starting at age 5.
